Yoga Slow Flow

Slow vinyasa style yoga with breath work and mobility work. Bring a yoga mat, blanket, or towel.

Jennifer has been teaching yoga for 4 years. She teaches yoga at GoToga Gahanna and specializes in Yin and Restorative flow.

Modern: Exploring the Floor

Instructor: Melissa Hinchman

In this class we will be exploring our connection to the floor, finding seamless transitions on and off the ground, and using the body’s momentum to guide our movement. Pants, long sleeves, or knee pads are welcome to protect the skin for floorwork.

Melissa Hinchman holds a BFA in Dance from The Ohio State University. Melissa founded and serves as the Artistic Director for Cultivate Dance Project based in Columbus, OH. She is also a full-time dance instructor at Columbus DanceArts Academy.

Intermediate Hip-Hop

Join for a fun and welcoming hip hop class designed for intermediate to advanced dancers. This upbeat and high energy combo is perfect for dancers looking to have fun, build confidence, and bring the energy! Wear clean sneakers to dance in.

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Kaleigh began dancing at the age of two and had been passionate about the art ever since. She continued her dance journey at the University of Akron, where she minored in dance and was a proud member of the University of Akron Dance Team. Currently, she continues to share her love by teaching Contemporary, Tumbling, and Hip Hop at ML Dance Academy and For The Love of Dance.

Beginner Belly Dance

Instructor: Maela

Learn the basics of belly dance in this introductory workshop featuring foundational isolations, shimmies, and simple combinations. Perfect for beginners and curious dancers of all backgrounds. You can be barefoot or wear socks/dance practice shoes.

Maela is a passionate dancer based in Central Ohio who teaches and performs. She is the director and choreographer of Ohio Raqs, a collective of student dancers and seasoned performers that present classical and folklore style belly dance.

Intermediate Contemporary Ballet

Floor barre and ballet combinations with a bit of company choreography! Wear ballet slippers, and keep hair up and off of face.

Jennifer Muselin is a former Ohio Dance Theatre professional dancer who established Ballet Legato in 2019 in Northeast Ohio. Ballet Legato is a small professional contemporary ballet company based in North Ridgeville, Ohio with both classical and contemporary repertoire.

Intermediate/Advanced Musical Theatre

This class will include progressions and a combo that are fun and challenging. Musical Theatre Dance combines the basics of jazz dance with any number of influences including, country, salsa, historical movement and even cheerleading. The history of Broadway is rich and you will enjoy this exploration of dance as used onstage as part of a larger production. Wear jazz shoes if you have them.

Kids Beginner Jazz

This energetic and upbeat class introduces young dancers to the basics of jazz dance. Students will learn simple jazz steps and basic choreography. No previous dance experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to move, learn, and have fun! Bring a water bottle, and wear jazz shoes, ballet slippers, socks, or sneakers.

Mrs. Lenhart studied dance for 18+ years in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has taught dance at homeschool co-ops throughout the Columbus area since 2019.

Beginner Musical Theatre

Movement for Mental Health

This class will be a guided improvisational practice. We will start on the floor and gradually make our way to our feet, where we will spend a good amount of time playing with ideas and exploring the space. No prior dance experience is required. All are welcome. Bring a water bottle.

Leah graduated from the University of Akron with her B.A. in Dance in 2015. She is a founding member and the Assistant Rehearsal Director of Cultivate Dance Project and just finished her eighth season with the company. Leah works at the Behavioral Health Pavilion at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, teaches at Flux Flow Dance Center, and enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her two fur babies, Potato Chips and Charlie.

Beginner Hip Hop

An easy and fun hip hop class where we’ll do a quick warm up and learn a short dance. Wear comfortable clothes to move in and shoes you can dance in.

Jess Gould is a jazz teacher at BalletMet. She has been a member of New Vision Dance Company going on five years.

An examination of unique, expression-forward Contemporary movement.

Kenneth Brown is a Columbus native with over 20 years of performance, choreography, and instruction experience in a multitude of genres. His movement focus is on emotional expression and the relationship between artist and music, artist and artist, and artist and self.

Find More Flexibility

Instructor: Lisa Keller

Stretching is important, but it’s not THE answer. Class will focus on gently mobilizing the body, identifying particular sources of tension, and finding the right ways to release it. This class is not physically intense, but requires a strong sense of bodily awareness. Bring a tennis/racquet ball or large bouncy ball and a resistance band.

Lisa Keller is the owner and director of Diversion Dance Collective. She has worked with thousands of students across the US and Canada over her 19 year career as a freelance choreographer and touring instructor.

Beginner K-Pop Dance

We will learn excerpts of choreography from popular K-pop music videos and the K-pop Demon Hunters movie.

Raya Taylor is a junior BFA Dance Major at Wright State University who previously trained at Movement on Main Center for Dance. She loves to create K-pop dance cover videos and has competed in K-pop Dance Competitions.

Intermediate/Advanced Tap

Tap combination and progressions.

Michael has been dancing for over 30 years and teaching for over 15, studying various styles and additionally performing in theater. He’s a former 3-time state title holder for Ohio Dance Masters, and has been part of their faculty for multiple conventions and workshops, while also making an appearance as a contestant in 2015 on SYTYCD. He currently teaches at 5 studios across NE Ohio, focusing on competitive dance, while occasionally guest teaching across the east coast and judging for competitions such as Dance Force Express, Encore Talent Productions, and Ohio Dace Masters.

Pilates for Seniors

The Fundamentals of Pilates movement linked to Pilates exercises, and modified for your specific capabilities. Bring a yoga mat, towel, and pillow for head support.

Cecile began her love of physical movement as a young child in acrobatics and dance. Having achieved a high level of expertise, she opened and operated her own acro/dance studio for many years. After moving to Columbus, she has taught Pilates for 30 years and enjoys helping seniors navigate movement, improving their quality of life.

Intermediate Classical Ballet

Ballet barre, center, and some technical pointers. Wear ballet shoes, dance socks, or jazz shoes.

Sally Squires received her dance training at New Albany Ballet Company and BalletMet, and has also performed with Cleveland Ballet, Opera Columbus, Shadowbox Live, Short North Stage, and Pickerington Community Theatre. She is currently finishing her bachelor’s degree at Otterbein University, where she is double majoring in mathematics and biochemistry, while also teaching and choreographing at numerous studios around Columbus, including BalletMet and K Studio. This is Sally’s sixth season with New Vision Dance Company, and she is very grateful to be teaching and dancing with such a supportive and inclusive organization!

Afro-Fusion

Afro-Fusion is a self defined class that explores the intersection of Black Dance across the diaspora. This class explores, through a fun, free, and challenging environment, movement from (but not limited to), concert, street, and commercial dance styles. (Ex: Hip Hop, Afrobeats, Dancehall, Traditional West African, Horton, House and many more). Bring a water bottle, an open mind, and a positive attitude.

Brianna Rhodes was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and is a graduate of The Ohio State University Department of Dance. She toured nationally with Dianne McIntyre performing “In the Same Tongue”. She is a teacher in various places in Columbus, Ohio, as well as a choreographer, freelancer, and poet. Her pedagogy is rooted in the universal Black experience, serving as a catalyst for underrepresented communities, and the African proverb “Ubuntu”.

Bodyweight Strength and Fitness

Use your own bodyweight to gain strength and get your heart rate up. Bring a beach towel.

Katy was a collegiate swimmer who wanted to continue competing after college and luckily found CrossFit. She competed in 3 regional competitions and qualified for the CrossFit Games in 2015. She is currently on her 12th year coaching CrossFit where she has studied bodyweight movements, Olympic Lifting and Power Lifting extensively.

Classical Ballet Variations

Instructor: Amanda Lenhart

Explore the beauty of classical ballet through variations from famous ballets while developing technique, artistry, and performance skills. Prior ballet experience recommended. Wear ballet slippers or jazz shoes. Point shoes may be worn, but there will be no rosin available.

Amanda studied dance for 18+ years in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has taught dance at homeschool co-ops throughout the Columbus area since 2019.

Intermediate Hip-Hop

Instructor: Byron Griffin

This class will incorporate a warm up that will include an introduction to Hip-Hop elements and techniques. The class will also include across the floors and a combination at the end. Bring tennis shoes.

Byron Griffin is a Stivers School for the Arts Alumni, New Vision Dance Company Member, and incoming dance student at Point Park University. Byron has danced all over the country for competitions, festivals, and conferences such as the International Association of Blacks in Dance and the Hip-Hop International competition.

Acting for Dancers

Instructor: Elliott Lemberg

“In this highly active workshop, participants will explore how to use their bodies more effectively to communicate character, relationships, intention, and story. Drawing on the movement-based acting technique of Viewpointing, students will learn how specific choices in movement, gesture, tempo, and spatial relationships can deepen characterization and strengthen ensemble performance.

Through a series of interactive exercises, participants will develop a richer physical vocabulary for theatrical storytelling, discovering new ways to create compelling stage pictures and meaningful onstage connections. This technique empowers performers to become more expressive, collaborative, and dynamic storytellers.”

Elliott Lemberg is the Artistic Director of New Albany High School Theatre, a position he has held for 19 years, and currently serves as Vice President of the Worthington Community Theatre Board of Directors. A graduate of Ball State University, Mr. Lemberg has directed more than 60 productions across collegiate, community, professional, and secondary theatre settings. He specializes in acting, directing, and movement pedagogy and has led master classes and workshops in performance, movement, and theatrical storytelling for artists of all ages.

Gentle Morning Flow

Agnes is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and the founder of Be Still and Flow Yoga, offering classes that blend gentle movement, mindfulness, and deep rest. With a warm and welcoming approach, she creates spaces where students can relax, reconnect, and challenge themselves with compassion. Agnes is passionate about making yoga accessible for all ages and experience levels, from energizing morning flows to restorative yoga nidra and kids yoga.

Total Body Blast

Get ready to sweat, smile, and move! This full-body workout combines strength training and cardio bursts for an energizing class that will challenge your muscles, elevate your heart rate, and leave you feeling strong and accomplished. We’ll use resistance bands to add intensity and variety while working the upper body, lower body, and core. All fitness levels are welcome, and modifications will be provided throughout the workout. Bring a yoga mat if you’d like one for floor-based exercises.

Maria Rademaker is the owner of MAX Fitness & Wellness in Westerville, Ohio. She specializes in group fitness, strength training, and wellness coaching, helping people build confidence and sustainable healthy habits. Known for her energetic and welcoming coaching style, Maria is passionate about making fitness accessible, effective, and fun for all fitness levels.

Myles Lawson is a dancer, choreographer, and educator with professional performance and teaching experience spanning concert dance, musical theatre, and international touring productions. He is passionate about helping dancers build confidence, artistry, and strong technical foundations in a supportive environment. Myles currently serves as Adult Program Coordinator at Artisan Dance Studio.

Hula Basic

Instructor: Aizel Cabungcal

Aloha! Hawaii’s King David Kalakaua said “Hula is the language of the heart, and therefore the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people.” This session will introduce basic hula steps and teach a simple choreography. You can dance barefoot or wear socks.

Aizel Cabungcal is a co-owner of Mahana Productions, LLC, a Polynesian dance group based in central Ohio. Their goal is to perpetuate the culture through music and dance. Aizel collaborates with schools, companies and organizations to promote Polynesian culture and dance.

Dancers will explore their artistry through an organic class process, where we will dive into our full range of movement, technique, and floor work.

Rebecca Walker is a dancer, choreographer, instructor, and studio owner based in Dayton, OH. She has both her Associates and BFA in dance, has worked with renowned artists such as Rachelle Rak, Nappytabs, and Rennie Harris, and has performed on television, in music videos, and with professional dance and theatre companies such as SWAD Dance Company, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and PSST. She continues to pursue her passion for the arts, teaching across the country working as a freelance dancer and choreographer and most recently opened a studio in Dayton called “Insignia Dance”.

Christina Coppel is a dance professional in Columbus, Ohio and a member of the Columbus Crystals Dance Team! She has over 10 years of teaching, performing, and choreography experience! She has travelled all over the US to share her love of dance and is excited to be NADF again this year!
